Victoria occupies 227,600 square kilometres at the south east corner of the continent. Has warm and dry summers and cool to mild, wet, winters. This is the only state in Australia with no coastline. It is an inland enclave with an area of 24,000 sq km, Canberra is Australia's national capital with self-governing body
and the home of its Federal Government. At the last national Census the population of Northern Territory was 210,664 people (110,176 males and 100,488 females) with an average of 30 years of age.

The Census showed that there were 50,785 people of Indigenous origin living in the region.
